Vismaad’s foray in animation is lead by a passion to bring alive the marvelous Sikh History through a contemporary medium.
Vismaad embarked on this mission by producing the first ever 2D-Animated movie on Sikh History “Sahibzadey: A Saga of Valor & Sacrifice”. This was followed by “The Rise of Khalsa” based on life of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
Our third mega animation “Sundri: The Brave Kaur”, produced at a cost of $320,000.00, was released in 2008. Over 50 very successful movie premiere shows were conducted in North America and UK from May-08 to Oct-08. In Toronto alone over 5000 people watched the movie premiere; which is a box office record for any purely religious movie.
Vismaad has dedicated a team of animators to produce more animated movies on Sikh History. This initiative is done on not-for-profit basis. Revenues generated from marketing of Sikh Religious movies are ploughed back to produce more movies.
Vismaad has raised the bar with each movie which has resulted in higher production costs
better animation. As a result now our movies require additional funding apart from the
revenue generated from sales of home video. We have so far been funding this deficit from our IT division revenues.
